Category G Akrid is a classification used to denote Akrid of massive or giant size and threat level. Cat-Gs, as the characters in-game call them, seem to each be one of a kind with unique abilities, such as ice breath or extreme regeneration. One exception to being unique is the Undeep, of which two are the bosses of Episode 6, chapter 3, and the cutscene that follows shows at least half a dozen more. Cat-Gs are, based on their behaviour, more intelligent than other akrid. One such example is Akrid X, who throws debris at the player and attacks VSs whenever possible. Cat-Gs are able to direct lesser akrid, such as Undeep calling Trilid to assist it in Lost Planet. When killed, Cat-Gs leave large amounts of Thermal Energy and ? boxes.
