Nushi

Nushi is a colossal Akrid living inside E.D.N. III. Somehow Nushi is a means to produce pure Thermal Energy, by purifying the Thermal Energy that the planet produces. If Nushi comes under threat it can call on other Akrid to aid it, like white blood cells protecting a host. It also has the means to summon the storms seen throughout the game as a defense against any attackers.

It is possible that Nushi might have been the original form of the Over-G Akrid, due to them both living inside of the planet itself.

History[]

Nushi was found by NeoVenus Construction's first colony's, and the scientific, and later Snow Pirates leader, Soichi Katsuragi, experimented with her. Nushi, named by him, with a word than means "heavenly leviathan", appears to have been the responsible of the colony's destruction: when it feel threatened, launched hordes of Akrid to attack them, and very few survived. Soichi keep her existance hidden to protect her and his people. After Jim Peyton found Nushi, Soichi wanted to keep it secret, fearing NEVEC's people will try to control or kill Nushi.

Soicchi's fears proved to be founded: a new NEVEC military expedition, led by Caleb Isenberg, stole a device to control the Akrid and took it inside Nushi.

Death[]

Jim Peyton and Caleb have their final battle inside the heart of Nushi. Jim Peyton make a drill with his RIG, to make the Akrids attack Caleb. He managed to kill Isenberg who got roped into the drill along with Peyton. Jim lost his left leg but, unable to stop the drill, also ended up killing Nushi but refused to tell anyone about it and instead, like Souichi, decided to protect those who he endangered. Without Nushi to keep normalcy of the planets climate, clean E-TERM energy was unable to be obtained, so both Gale and Mira created the Harmonizer that mimicked Nushi.
