A location on E.D.N III in Lost Planet 3
History[]
Shackleton's Peak, as its name suggests, is one of taller mountains in the Coronis Base's region. As communication between Coronis and Earth wasn't easy, the expedition built a comm antena in the top of the mountain, along with an automated station.
It was accessible to Utility Rigs only though an elevator, and Coronis members appears to go there only when it is some problem. It was in the area where the RIG pilot Jenette Diaz was killed by Goonroes. Months later, its successor, Jim Peyton get there to investigate the antena, which had shut down. There he saw a misterious figure later known to be Mira.
In a later visit, Peyton tracked the Thermal Energy emissions, working for Dr. Bonnie Roman, locating its origin. After joining the Snow Pirates, Jim attempted to sabotage the antena, and was attacked by his mate Renard LaRoche, but managed to defeat him and destroy his RIG.
After NEVEC expedition's survivors joined the Pirates and cut any ties with Earth, it may be assumed than the Peak's facilities were abandoned.

- Though never said, it appears than the peak was named after Ernest Shackleton, famous antarctic explorer.
